INVISALIGN TREATMENT

Invisalign
Invisalign is an easy, unobtrusive option for straightening your teeth, especially for adults who want to avoid the appearance of traditional metal braces or teens who want to continue their active lifestyles uninhibited while receiving orthodontic treatment.

Invisalign treatment consists of a series of clear, plastic trays designed based on renderings of your mouth. The trays are carefully sculpted by your orthodontist to gradually move teeth into the correct position. The thin, plastic tray is nearly invisible on your teeth, and allow you the freedom to keep your treatment to yourself or share it with the world! The trays are worn for approximately 22 hours a day, but can be removed for brushing teeth and eating. Based on your individual prognosis, you will wear several sets of trays throughout your orthodontic treatment, and will start to notice a change in just a few months!

This nearly-invisible option for teeth straightening is truly changing the way people view orthodontic treatment, and we are very excited to offer this technology to our patients. Dr Schaefer has a lot of experience treating patients with Invisalign, and he is now undergoing Invisalign treatment for the sole purpose of increasing his awareness of what it’s like to go through Invisalign treatment.

Invisalign Teen
Invisalign Teen helps many of our teenagers get excited about starting orthodontics, by providing us with a nearly invisible way to straighten teeth. The Invisalign system uses a series of clear aligners to gradually move teeth into their new positions, leaving behind nothing but a straighter, more confident smile.

The invisibility factor is obviously a draw for anybody wanting a less obvious orthodontic treatment option. But what other benefits does Invisalign offer to you as a teen?
1. Convenience - Less emergency visits, require fewer checkups than braces, and offer ultimate flexibility in removing them to eat, brush, and floss.

2. Active teens - For athletes or children that play a musical instrument, Invisalign is a great option. The trays cannot be removed so a mouthguard can be worn or so the instrument can be played. As long as the trays are worn 22 hours per day,

3. Cost - The results are similar to braces and the cost at our office is the same. We offer OrthoFi, which works with us to check with your insurance company for orthodontic benefits (many dental insurance policies will actually cover orthodontic treatment for patients under eighteen) . Click here to see a list of insurance policies we accept (can we link to that page on the site?)

4. Confidence booster - Braces work wonders, but they can cause insecurities for those not excited to have metal brackets and colors in their mouth. Invisalign Teen aligners are practically invisible, removing a source of stress for some undergoing orthodontics.
Invisalign for Adults
If you’re one of many adults who put off beneficial orthodontic treatment because you can’t bear the thought of having to wear traditional metal braces, you’re in luck! There’s an alternative treatment available in Invisalign’s clear aligner system. This invisible option involves wearing a series of clear, custom-made plastic aligners to shift your teeth over time into more desirable positions without the use of metal brackets or wires. Orthodontists recommend Invisalign to treat a variety of common dental issues, from bite problems to overcrowding, and it has a number of benefits for adults who are looking for a less intrusive and obvious way to straighten their smile. Crowded or crooked teeth can be difficult to clean thoroughly, and can also cause swollen gums, creating openings for bacterial plaque to grow and potentially lead to gum disease and tooth decay. An improper bite can cause jaw pain, speech impediments, and chewing challenges that may lead to digestive issues. Invisalign can help resolve those issues, enhancing the appearance and function of your teeth.
